In 2025, Bloomington Parks and Recreation has a total of 205 garden plots available to rent. Local gardeners can apply to rent garden plots for use from late April through late October. Return renters can apply starting in February. We will accept all other applications starting in March. Each plot costs $45 for Bloomington residents or $57 for nonresidents.

2025 community garden plot rental timeline

March 3First day for all renters to submit general applications
April 11Last day to rent or to cancel your rental
April 19First day of gardening season, weather permitting
June 1Deadline to plant in your plot
October 19End of 2025 season (only plant materials can be left in plot)
