Last November, the City’s “Start with Hi!” campaign kicked off with an event at the Minnesota Masonic Heritage Center. More than 60 community members attended. Community partners including the Minnesota Department of Health, NAMI, Meals on Wheels, Friends & Co. and the City’s “Better Together” Employee Resource Group hosted tables and provided mental health resources.

Friendships were made, games were played and a meal was shared. Attendees wrote postcards to homebound older adults, contributed to a gratitude tree and made pledges for continued connection.

“The Start with Hi! campaign supports the City’s strategic plan goals of improving both individual and community health,” said Mayor Busse. “This campaign fosters a sense of belonging, helping community members to feel valued and welcomed.”
