Maintenace issue at Bloomington Family Aquatic Center could delay summer opening

City staff recently became aware of a potential leak in the Bloomington Family Aquatic Center pool during routine inspections.  

Staff are awaiting a contractor’s evaluation to determine the extent of the repair that will be needed to get the pool up and running.

Depending on the nature of the repairs required, the scheduled June 9 opening date for the 2025 season could be delayed.

We know many community members look forward to summer at the pool and we’re doing everything we can to minimize disruption.  

We’re exploring options with neighboring aquatic facilities to find alternatives for season pass holders in the event that the BFAC opening date is delayed.
