Join in the winter fun at Bloomington Ice Garden! All are welcome at Bloomington's first ever Winter Sports & Rec Gear Swap. Whether it's outgrown hockey gear or a lonely sled, your winter sports gear could find a new home at BIG. Maybe you'll find gear that sparks a new outdoor winter interest, too!
Accepted Items:
All items should be in gently used or like new condition.
Skating and hockey items: ice skates, gloves, pads, sticks, pucks, and gear bags.
Skiing items: skis, snowboards, boots, poles, and goggles.
Volunteers make swaps happen! Volunteer roles are flexible and fun, and you can still participate in the swap as a volunteer. Learn more and sign up at blm.mn/winter-swap-volunteer.
Swap events create the opportunity for people to donate gently used items and find new items to take home and use. Swaps organized by the city of Bloomington follow a few basic rules:
Swaps are always free, and the items being swapped are available to take on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants do not have to donate items in order to participate. You can arrive empty-handed and take what you need!
If you are bringing items to swap, they should be clean and in good or gently used condition. Please ensure your items are accepted at the event by reviewing the "What's Accepted?" list, and contact City staff about any items you are unsure about.
City-hosted swap events are part of the City of Bloomington's bulky item management program.
The goal of these events is to repurpose items and give them new homes, helping to divert waste from going to landfills and incinerators. Learn more at blm.mn/bulkies.
