Effective Thursday, October 17, the City of Bloomington has declared a ban on all outdoor recreational fires until weather and fire danger conditions improve. The ban is based on increasing temperature, dry vegetation and strong winds that taken together increase the risk that an outdoor fire may spread out of control.  The recreational fire ban removes one potential ignition source to help prevent fires.

The current restrictions on open burning and recreational fires will remain in effect until enough rain falls to significantly lower the fire danger. Information is also available on the City's website and from the Bloomington Fire Prevention Division at 952-563-4801.
