Bloomington, MN — The City of Bloomington held a groundbreaking ceremony for Tretbaugh Park on Wednesday, July 24. The event marked the beginning of the construction of a new bike skills park located at 3261 W. 90th St.

Tretbaugh Park is set to become a preferred destination for biking enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. The reimagined park will feature a paved all-wheel track and a gravel course designed for mountain bike skills development. In addition to these elements, the park will also include a new shade structure and seating areas.

The ceremony celebrated the commencement of construction and acknowledged the contributions of staff, council members, commission members and community members who helped make this project a reality. Bike enthusiasts who contributed to the design process were also present to celebrate this milestone.

“We’re excited to start construction on the new Tretbaugh Park, a project rooted in our Park System Master Plan and the ideas from our community,” said Mayor Tim Busse. “We look forward to seeing residents and visitors of all ages and abilities enjoy this new addition to our park system.”

Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2025. During the construction period, access to Tretbaugh Park will be limited. Visitors are advised to avoid entering the gated construction zones for their safety.
