Bloomington, MN  The City of Bloomington is holding a community engagement event to gather input on the future of Moir Park. Residents are invited to share their ideas and vision for the park on Wednesday, August 7, from 5-7 p.m., at the Moir Park Picnic Shelter, located at 10320 Morgan Ave. S.

This event will provide an opportunity for the community to work with City employees and consultants in developing the new Moir Park concept plan. The City is seeking feedback on desired amenities and improvements as part of the Nine Mile Creek Corridor Renewal project. This project prioritizes restoration, sustainability and enhancing amenities to ensure that the Nine Mile Creek Corridor and Moir/Central Park continue to connect residents with nature and the outdoors.

Attendees will have the chance to:

  • Meet with City staff and consultants to provide their ideas and feedback.

  • Participate in a community workshop to generate ideas for park activities and improvements.

  • Enjoy the playground, yard games, and treats.

  • Purchase dinner from Potter’s Pasties and Pies food truck.

“Our goal is to create a space that reflects the needs and desires of the Bloomington community," said Renae Clark, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation at the City. "By participating in this event, residents can help shape a park that everyone can enjoy for years to come."

Feedback gathered during this event will be used to create concept plans for further community review and input. The City of Bloomington is committed to involving residents throughout the entire planning and design process, ensuring transparency and community involvement.
