Join Wade Yunker, the City of Bloomington's Natural Resources Specialist, for a guided nature walk at one Bloomington’s hidden gems, Nord Myr Park.

The park features a wide variety of plant communities from wetlands to oak savanna to oak woodland. A portion of the park also contains a population of remnant prairie!

 On this walk you will:

  • Learn the differences between restored and remnant plant populations.
  • Discuss restoration work happening in the park and elsewhere in Bloomington.
  • Observe the many native wildflowers in bloom.
  • See how invasive species impact our natural areas.
  • Enjoy being immersed in nature.

Meet at the trail head located on the north side of West 91st Street and Toledo Road. Walk begins promptly at 1 p.m.

Parking is available along West 91st Street.

Maximum number of participants: 20 (first come, first served).

This free program is geared towards families and adults and will occur weather permitting. Check the status of events during inclement weather by calling 952-563-8878 or visiting the Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
