Join Wade Yunker, the City of Bloomington's Natural Resources Specialist, for a guided nature walk at one Bloomington’s hidden gems, Nord Myr Park.
The park features a wide variety of plant communities from wetlands to oak savanna to oak woodland. A portion of the park also contains a population of remnant prairie!
On this walk you will:
- Learn the differences between restored and remnant plant populations.
- Discuss restoration work happening in the park and elsewhere in Bloomington.
- Observe the many native wildflowers in bloom.
- See how invasive species impact our natural areas.
- Enjoy being immersed in nature.
Meet at the trail head located on the north side of West 91st Street and Toledo Road. Walk begins promptly at 1 p.m.
Parking is available along West 91st Street.
Maximum number of participants: 20 (first come, first served).
