Halloween Trick or Treat Trail Graphic 2024

Join us for the Fourth Annual Halloween Trick or Treat Trail. This FREE outdoor event takes place at Normandale Lake Park and is designed for children preschool age through 5th grade.  

EVENT DETAILS

  • Park in the lots on Chalet Road.
  • Start at the boat launch on the west side of the lake (see map below).
    • Preschoolers through 2nd graders are encouraged to hit the trail 2 - 3:30 p.m. 
    • 3rd through 5th graders are encouraged to hit the trail 3:30 - 5 p.m. 
  • Trail experience includes entertainment, candy and surprises from community partner organizations and City departments.  
  • A food truck offers the chance to buy something to eat besides candy.
  • Costumes not required.
  • Free event. No registration required.
  • Donation of a non-perishable food item for the VEAP food shelf is appreciated but not required. 
    • Monetary donations for VEAP also accepted.
  • Event takes place weather permitting.

ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE

  • ARK (Acoustic Rock for Kids) featuring John Kerns. Kids' music at the Bandshell. 
    • Set 1: 2:30 - 3:15 p.m.
    • Set 2: 3:30 - 4:15 p.m. 

John Kerns plays music for kids to inspire them to be rock stars of their own kind someday. His music gets kids on their feet to dance, sing, follow instructions, learn about food, and party like kids should party. This high-energy show is made for children and families to participate in.

  • Carnival Concessions is a Minnesota based company serving the Twin Cities & Surrounding area since 1988, offering mini donuts, corn dogs, cheese curds and other festival favorites.

See the Trick or Treat Trail route map below. The trail starts near the boat launch on the west side of the lake. Convenient parking is available in the adjacent Chalet Road lots.

The Citywide Halloween Trick or Treat Trail Event is presented by the Recreation Division of the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with other City departments and a variety of local organizations.
