Bloomington voters reaffirm ranked-choice voting in municipal elections

A question on this year's ballot asked Bloomington voters to decide on the future of ranked-choice voting in municipal elections. 

Unofficial results indicate that 51.29% of residents voted “no,” meaning ranked-choice voting will continue to be used to elect the mayor and city council.

It was a busy election season. This year, 83.12% of registered Bloomington voters participated in the election. Of these, 42.17% voted on Election Day, 31.92% voted in person at Civic Plaza and 9.03% voted by mail. The City operated 31 polling places, staffed by 542 election judges.
