A question on this year's ballot asked Bloomington voters to decide on the future of ranked-choice voting in municipal elections.

Unofficial results indicate that 51.29% of residents voted “no,” meaning ranked-choice voting will continue to be used to elect the mayor and city council.

It was a busy election season. This year, 83.12% of registered Bloomington voters participated in the election. Of these, 42.17% voted on Election Day, 31.92% voted in person at Civic Plaza and 9.03% voted by mail. The City operated 31 polling places, staffed by 542 election judges.

Bloomington City Clerk Jamy Hanson shared, “A heartfelt thanks to all the election judges and volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth and fair election process. Their dedication made it possible for every resident to have their voice heard.”
