Bloomington, MN - The City of Bloomington welcomes the engineering and architecture firm TKDA to Bloomington. TKDA will be moving its headquarters from St. Paul to the former office building of Ceridian located at 3311 E. Old Shakopee Road in South Loop.

On July 9, TKDA hosted an open house for its employees to visit the space prior to construction and the City of Bloomington was there to welcome them.

“We are rolling out the red carpet. We are very welcoming and want people to feel at home,” said Mayor Tim Busse.

TKDA has acquired 87,000 square feet of the office space, which they plan to renovate. The company will bring 300 employees to the new space and hope to have renovations completed by March 2025.

TKDA already has ties to Bloomington. About 20 employees occupy a satellite office at MSP airport. They say the new location will provide easy access to MSP in support of its work there and the company’s travel requirements as it expands geographically.

The location also highlights the natural amenities Bloomington has to offer with an overview of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, which TKDA says will encourage employee wellness and support a collaborative culture.

“We’re really excited to be here,” said CEO Tom Stoneburner. “We did a lot of searching and went through a rigorous process of Bloomington, this building and the neighborhood. We're really looking forward to a bright future here.”

Mayor Busse said Bloomington is really on a roll right now for business expansion, growth and development, in addition to TKDA in South Loop, Polar Semiconductor and SICK industries are adding employees.

“We know there’s so much going on and it’s interesting that people are looking to Bloomington to expand,” Mayor Busse said. “I think it has to do with our transportation system, our great work force but also, I think the welcoming environment here in the community.”
