Hatch Bloomington offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their business ideas and compete for a chance to receive $100,000 in financial assistance to kick-start a brick-and-mortar business in Bloomington.

In May, contest organizers received more than 60 applications. Twenty-five semifinalists were selected in early June. On June 26, the semifinalists presented their pitches to a panel of nine judges who narrowed the field down to 10 finalists.

Public voting will take place July 29 – August 5 to narrow the field to three finalists. Hatch Bloomington is part of the City’s strategic effort to support the small business community and attract fresh investment into Bloomington, positioning it as a hub of economic activity and innovation in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

The City and the Minneapolis Regional Chamber are partnering to offer Hatch Bloomington.
