Mission

 

Bloom in Bloomington strives to support and grow a more diverse, and accessible workplace for our community by matchmaking young people with employers in local government, nonprofit, and private sectors.

Bloom in Bloomington dreams of a world where employment disparities are eliminated, our workforce reflects the diversity of the community and young people of all identities can feel seen by their government and be empowered to reach their full potential.

Things to note

 

  • This program requires a 40 hour work week commitment for students, including an 8 hour leadership institute for high school students.
  • Employers must provide interns with all necessary work equipment to complete their assigned duties.
  • Please note that we are offering two internships:
    1. An 8-week program from June 23 to August 15, 2025 (high school students, aged 16-18; minimum wage of $15/hour paid by the employer)
    2. A 12-week program from May 26 to August 15, 2025 (youth attending college and/or living in Bloomington, aged 18-24; minimum wage of $20/hour paid by the employer). 
  • The City of Bloomington will review applications, assist in the interview process and facilitate placement of interns.
