The Board of Appeal and Equalization provides a fair and objective forum for property owners to appeal the valuation or classification or their properties. The board meets each April to conduct its hearing.
The board consists of five (5) members appointed by the City Council. All members shall have experience in real estate as an appraiser, realtor, real estate attorney, or property manager and one (1) members shall have experience in commercial, industrial or apartment valuation.
The Local Board of Appeal and Equalization’s staff liaison is City Assessor Tim Bulger.
