The Bloomington City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, January 27, 2025,  at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, Minnesota, 55431, or by electronic means as provided by State law, to consider an Ordinance amending Chapter 1 of the City Code to designate uncodified ordinances as special ordinances, amending Chapter 20 of the City Code to renew Comcast’s Cable Television Franchise, and creating appendix D of the City Code providing a reference for uncodified ordinances. Any person may speak to the City Council concerning the renewal of the franchise at the time of the public hearing.  Topics of interest to residents of the City may include customer service obligations, quality and reliability of cable signals and local public, educational and governmental access programming. Comments regarding rates for cable services and the type of commercial programming to be carried on the cable system are not encouraged as federal law limits the City’s regulatory authority in these areas.
