Important Information Regarding Property Taxes  - This May Affect Your 2026 Property Taxes

The Bloomington Board of Review will meet as the Bloomington Local Board of Appeal and Equalization and hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 16, 2025,  at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 West Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, Minnesota, 55431, or by electronic means as provided by State law.  

The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the City of Bloomington has been properly valued and classified by the Bloomington City Assessor’s Office, and to determine whether corrections need to be made.

If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact the Bloomington City Assessor’s Office at 952-563-8722 or assessing@bloomingtonmn.gov to discuss your concerns.  If you are still not satisfied with the valuation or classification after discussing it with the City Assessor’s Office, you may appear before the Bloomington Local Board of Appeal and Equalization.  Making an appointment with the City Assessor’s Office to appear at the April 16 meeting is encouraged – walk in appeals will be heard as well but will be heard following all scheduled appeals.

Generally, an appearance before the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization is required by law before an appeal can be taken to the County Board of Appeal and Equalization.

Notice of Public Hearing for the Board of Appeal and Equalization Orientation.  An orientation meeting for the Board of Review members will take place at 5:15 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in the Civic Plaza - Dakota Conference Room.  The purpose of this meeting is for members of the Board of Review to convene to discuss their duties for upcoming Board of Appeal and Equalization meetings.  No action will be taken on property values or classifications at this meeting.
