Human Services works with more than 300 volunteers each year in programs, activities and special events. Volunteers may choose to assist at one time special events or to volunteer on an on-going basis.

Available volunteer opportunities:

Fare For All Worker

Assist in the operation of a monthly Fare For All distribution as a cart runner. Assist those bringing their purchased items to their car.

  • 1 day per month (3rd Wednesday) for 3 hours (10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
  • Creekside Community Center

Bone Builders Exercise Instructor

Instruction of fitness course, in the Bone Builders exercise program. Classes involve low-impact exercises for all fitness levels to improve posture, strength, balance, endurance and flexibility. Instructors will receive one 6-hour training course, with free lunch, as well as mileage reimbursement for any costs incurred driving to and from the training course and Bone Builders classes.

  • Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m. and Saturdays, 9-10 a.m.
  • Creekside Community Center

Frozen Meal Delivery Driver

Consider becoming a volunteer for the Optage Senior Dining Choices program. Deliver meals to individual's homes and/or apartments. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license as well as their own vehicle.

  • Each volunteer would be delivering 1 week's worth of meals to the homes of about 6-8 residents.
  • Each route is designed to be about 1 hour in length. The meals would be picked up at Creekside Community Center on Wednesday between 10:30-11 a.m.

Looking for volunteers that would be willing to commit to helping in 1 of 3 ways:

  • An every week driver (4 times/month)
  • An every other week driver (2 times/month)
  • A fill-in driver to help out on day(s) where one of our regular every week or every other week drivers are unable to drive

Volgistics

Volgistics allows volunteers access to their schedules and job assignments from home. Volunteers can add additional shifts or sign up for new volunteer opportunities. They can also receive a record of the hours they have worked.
